When you apply for a product or service on the GlassHouse website, you will be asked for personal information that is needed to process your application. We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:
When you contact us
Whether by email or via our contact form, when you contact us we will receive any information that you provide to us, which we will use for the sole purpose of dealing with your query, and will keep for only the duration of 12 months. If you opt in to hear news from us, we will add you to our mailing list and you will be kept on the list until you unsubscribe, which you can do at any time. The data you provide will be kept safely in our Ionos-hosted email box (see a link to Ionos' privacy policy below).
When you engage in the ordering process with us
Those who want to engage in transactions with GlassHouse Design and Glazing are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In every case, GlassHouse collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfil the purpose of the visitor's interaction with GlassHouse. GlassHouse does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below, and customers can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.
GlassHouse discloses potentially personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organisations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on GlassHouse's behalf, or to provide services available at GlassHouse's website, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organisations may be located outside of your home country; by using GlassHouse's websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. If you visit our premises CCTV footage of you will be captured as we use this to ensure the security of our staff and visitors, and to maintain the physical security of our property. We record most incoming and outgoing calls and collect calling line identification data for training, security and monitoring purposes. We do not record credit/debit card details.
Sensitive Personal Data
There may be instances where it is necessary for you to share information with us containing special categories of personal information (‘sensitive personal data’). This relates to things such as details of medical conditions which you may need to share with us so we are able to meet your specific requirements when providing our goods and services. Due to the sensitive nature of this information, we will only take it from you if you have given us your explicit consent and it is necessary for us to do so. We will inform you of what we will do with this information and who we will share it with.
Security of your data
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal information from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition we limit access to your personal information to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know.
We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected data security breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected breach where we are legally required to do so.
How we decide how long to retain your data
We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal or contractual requirements.

Your information will not be held for longer than two years if you have enquired only (and not purchased from GlassHouse).
If you are a customer who has made a purchase from GlassHouse, we are required as a minimum to hold your customer data for the lifetime of the warranty on your purchase (up to 25 years) and unless you request for your information to be removed, we will continue to hold your data on our system for up to 40 years. This is because the data we hold will be relevant should you wish to update your home improvements in the future and we may require the original/specific details of your installation.
Take reasonable endeavours to ensure that any information about you is accurate and kept up to date.

We understand the importance of protecting children’s privacy, especially in an online environment. The Site is not designed for or directed at children.
